Republican loyalists' ability to hold onto their belief in their party is stunning, mystifying. But… there it is.
It may be that at this point Democrats and disaffected Republicans, between them, can sway the country out of the hands of Bushists. And clearly even a lot of unreflective but unhappy Americans will have at least a dim sense that things can't go on the way they have.
But there's still a core audience out there for Fox News and conservative, reality-divorced talk radio. And for books put out by Republican thinkers, pundits, (ex-)politicians, and strategists.
There are of course those who come to their senses: Scott McClellan's book, "What Happened?" comes out as an attempt to reclaim some shred of honor after being ill-used by the administration as its ventriloquist dummy. But for the most part, they stay loyal.
While we're waiting for Rove's book, here's a top ten list of other books likely to please this constituency.
